Dr. Uma Devi Karunakaran is an accomplished obstetrician and gynaecologist with over 45 years of experience. She has authored 30 publications and contributed to a prominent postgraduate textbook. Dr. Karunakaran has trained 170 government doctors and developed protocol books for them. She holds various leadership roles in professional societies, including treasurer for OBGYN BSOG and vice president for BRCOG. Actively involved in education, she serves as a visiting professor at Ramaiah Medical College and an external member of the Board of Studies at Ramaiah University. Dedicated to women's health, she conducts cancer screenings and organizes free camps. Dr. Karunakaran is committed to continuing professional development, receiving awards such as the WHO Fellowship in Gynaecologic Oncology and RCOG Overseas Award in Infertility. Currently, she is Professor and Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Santosh Hospital, Bengaluru.
